Rachel has gained tremendous recognition exhibiting in the pony hunter division on the Central Pennsylvania Junior Hunter Show Association circuit.  She  trains with Erin Knepper and Chris Hurlburt-Gemmill at Woodberry Farm near York, PA.

Rachel and her parents, Lisa and Dave, recently visited our farm to learn as much as possible about Rachel’s new partner.  We could not be more pleased with Cordelanne’s placement and anxiously await the 2011 show debut of this outstanding team!

Grand prix rider and trainer Laurie Jakubauskas, of LRJ Enterprises, was responsible for the training and sale of Cordelanne.

Angela was, for many years, associated with Hilltop Farm.   She is not only a well known dressage trainer and competitor, but she also judges for KWPN Kuerings.

“Rudy” was originally sent to Angela for training and sale, but she was so impressed by our young sport horse that, after just a few weeks, she decided to buy him for herself.

“In addition to his long lines and athletic build, Rudy has a phenomenal attitude for such a young horse,” Angela says.  As well as  her acquisition of Rudy, Angela is also training another of our prospects, Santiago, who is impressing with his personality and versatility.

Last Laugh Farm was pleased to host its third consecutive ISR/Oldenburg NA Mare and Foal Inspection on September 24, 2009 at the farm.

This year’s event was the largest so far with 20 horses presented.  We were gratified by the kind compliments from our exhibitors and guests.  As always, we were honored to have Christian Schacht, DVM, and ISR/Oldenburg NA Director of Breeding, presiding.  Professional trainer, Junior Johnson, presented our equine entrants, and many of our guests were delighted to have his assistance.

LLF is especially proud of the results achieved by our own horses:  the four young Thoroughbred mares we presented were all approved.  Born to B Southern was awarded “Premium Mare” status.

For us, the highlight was that our chestnut foal, For the Moment, was Champion filly of the event with a score of 8.3. For the Moment is by the stallion, For the Future, who combines the bloodlines of Furioso II and the renowned Anglo-Arab stallion Inschallah.

In addition, LLF’s  Zanzibar, was also awarded premium foal status and was Reserve Champion Colt.  Zanzibar’s classic blood lines include Zeus, Pik Bube I and Gotthard.

Another of LLF’s colts, Coromiro, was, according to Christian Schacht, perhaps the most impressive colt at the inspection, but could not be awarded an official score because of issues involving the approval of his sire, Coromino.

As the inspection concluded, Christian Schacht complimented Last Laugh Farm’s breeding program for its emphasis on classic, foundation bloodlines.

For the Moment 2009 Champion Filly

As always, Last Laugh Farm is honored to be a part of the inspection tour, and we are looking forward to 2010!

On September 24th, Last Laugh Farm will host a mare and foal inspection for the Oldenburg Registry North America/International Sport Horse. This will be our third year of hosting an inspection and, as far as we know, our event will be the only one held in Pennsylvania in 2009.

Each year we have held this event, it has been somewhat more popular and better attended than the year before and this year will be no exception.

To better serve our guests, we have invited well known foal handler Junior Johnson to join us in presenting LLF’s mares and foals and other entrants who are interested in having their young horses presented by a consummate professional. We have also asked Tracy Kelsey www.tracykelseyphotography.com to be available to take candid and official photographs for the event and we will provide video services from Sarah Needham Antietam SportHorse Video www.antietamsporthorsevideo.com.

The inspection is judged by Dr. Christian Schacht. We are looking forward to another successful inspection!
