Thursday, August 12th, 2010

We are pleased to announce that the Heist Family of York, PA recently purchased our outstanding hunter prospect Cordelanne, by Corlando.  Rachael Heist, 12,  will begin showing her new mount in 2011 as she moves up from pony hunters to juniors.

Rachel has gained tremendous recognition exhibiting in the pony hunter division on the Central Pennsylvania Junior Hunter Show Association circuit.  She  trains with Erin Knepper and Chris Hurlburt-Gemmill at Woodberry Farm near York, PA.

Rachel and her parents, Lisa and Dave, recently visited our farm to learn as much as possible about Rachel’s new partner.  We could not be more pleased with Cordelanne’s placement and anxiously await the 2011 show debut of this outstanding team!

Grand prix rider and trainer Laurie Jakubauskas, of LRJ Enterprises, was responsible for the training and sale of Cordelanne.

Angela Sasso Purchases Rudolf

Monday, April 26th, 2010

We are pleased to announce that Rudolph, our three year old chestnut gelding by Valentino, has been purchased by dressage trainer, Angela Sasso for her own training program.

Angela was, for many years, associated with Hilltop Farm.   She is not only a well known dressage trainer and competitor, but she also judges for KWPN Kuerings.

Rudolf

“Rudy” was originally sent to Angela for training and sale, but she was so impressed by our young sport horse that, after just a few weeks, she decided to buy him for herself.

“In addition to his long lines and athletic build, Rudy has a phenomenal attitude for such a young horse,” Angela says.  As well as  her acquisition of Rudy, Angela is also training another of our prospects, Santiago, who is impressing with his personality and versatility.

Cordelanne And Santiago Free Jump

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Our two four-year-old prospects, Cordelanne and Santiago, had their introduction to free jumping at Vicmead Hunt Club near Chadds Ford, PA in early February.  They were evaluated by trainer Laurie Jakubauskas  www.lrj-stables.com and her assistant trainer, Tabitha McAnally.   As you can see from the video clips on their web pages, both youngsters performed extremely well and we expect one or both of them will return to Vicmead Hunt Club after the winter circuit in Florida this spring.

On September 24th, Last Laugh Farm will host a mare and foal inspection for the Oldenburg Registry North America/International Sport Horse. This will be our third year of hosting an inspection and, as far as we know, our event will be the only one held in Pennsylvania in 2009.

Each year we have held this event, it has been somewhat more popular and better attended than the year before and this year will be no exception.

We have also asked Tracy Kelsey www.tracykelseyphotography.com to be available to take candid and official photographs for the event and we will provide video services from Sarah Needham Antietam SportHorse Video www.antietamsporthorsevideo.com.

The inspection is judged by Dr. Christian Schacht. We are looking forward to another successful inspection!
